Why CostLens

More than just cost savings

CostLens brings multi-cloud visibility, financial impact, and prioritised savings opportunities into one platform — so cost optimisation is something you set up once, with automation you control, not a project you staff.

Auto-Fix, on your terms

Define rules by check, severity cap, and maximum savings per fix — CostLens applies matching low-risk fixes automatically, with a dry-run-only safe default until you're ready to turn it on.

Built for every cloud

Connect AWS, Azure, and GCP accounts for unified billing, asset inventory — including EKS, AKS & GKE cluster visibility — and AI-ranked recommendations. Automated one-click fixes run deepest on AWS today, with Azure and GCP remediation expanding.

No FinOps team required

Aevi AI explains every finding in plain English and recommends the exact fix. You get expert-level cost optimisation without hiring a dedicated team.

Safe, reversible fixes

Apply remediations in one click with a dry-run preview and one-click rollback. Every change is fully audited — nothing happens without your approval.

Proactive anomaly detection

CostLens continuously monitors your spend and flags statistically significant anomalies as they happen — not weeks later on an invoice.

Value from day one

Connect in minutes with a read-only role — no agents, no code changes. Prioritised savings appear on your very first scan.

Aevi AI Analysis

Finding

Idle RDS instance — db.r5.large, 0 connections for 7 days — est. $312/mo

Explanation

This database has had zero connections for 7 days but is still billing at full price. I recommend stopping it (or deleting with a final snapshot). Stopping is fully reversible — restart any time. Estimated saving: $312/month.

Illustrative UI preview. Live dashboard available in the private beta.

How it works

From connection to savings in minutes

Five steps. No FinOps expertise required.

01

Connect your cloud accounts

Link AWS via IAM Role (recommended) or Access Keys, Azure via a scoped service principal, or GCP via a scoped service account. CostLens never stores long-lived credentials. Least-privilege scoping, always.

02

Scan resources & billing data

CostLens runs automated checks across EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, EBS, NAT Gateways, and more on AWS — plus a growing check library on Azure and GCP. Cost data syncs every 6 hours; resource checks refresh every 12 hours.

03

AI recommendations appear

Findings land on your dashboard ranked by estimated monthly savings and severity. Aevi AI explains every recommendation in plain English — what it found, why it matters, what will be changed.

04

Review, explain & decide

Inspect any finding, ask Aevi for deeper context, then approve or dismiss with a reason. Every decision is logged — team members can see who approved what and when.

05

Apply with one click

Approved fixes run dry-run first (where supported), then apply via the cloud provider's API — or let Auto-Fix apply matching low-risk fixes for you. CostLens logs the full before/after state, timestamp, and user identity for a complete audit trail.

Comprehensive Coverage

Every area of cloud waste, covered

CostLens continuously checks compute, storage, databases, networking, and reserved-capacity commitments for waste — across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Serverless checks are AWS Lambda only today.

Dashboard

Everything you need in one place

Built for engineering and finance teams who want results — not another dashboard to babysit.

Billing Analytics

Visualise spend by service, region, account, and tag over any date range. Drill into daily, weekly, or monthly views to spot cost spikes the moment they happen.

Cost Forecast

Statistical spend projection for the current and next billing period, with an Aevi-written narrative covering cost drivers, opportunities, and risk flags.

Auto-Refresh Cycle

Billing data syncs every 6 hours. Cost-check scans run every 12 hours. Your dashboard always reflects near-real-time account state without manual triggers.

Budgets

Set spend budgets per account or scope, with configurable threshold alerts so you know you're trending over before the invoice arrives.

Commitments

Track Reserved Instance and Savings Plan coverage, with purchase recommendations sized to your actual usage patterns.

Unit Economics

Tie cloud spend to the business metrics that matter — cost per customer, per transaction, per workload — with an AI-generated insight on every metric.

Cloud & Kubernetes Inventory

A full, continuously refreshed inventory of every resource across your connected accounts — including EKS, AKS & GKE cluster visibility — with change history and utilisation (AWS EC2 today, expanding to Azure & GCP).

Auto-Fix

Rule-based auto-approval for low-risk fixes, scoped by check, severity, and savings cap — with post-change health monitoring and automatic rollback on regression.

Audit Log

Complete history of every applied fix, approval, and dismissal — who did it, when, what the resource state was before and after.

Aevi

Finding

4 unattached EBS volumes detected — est. $47/mo wasted

Aevi AI Explanation

These 4 EBS volumes are in an available state, meaning they are not attached to any EC2 instance. You're being billed for the storage capacity even though nothing is using it. I recommend taking a final snapshot of each, then deleting them. The total estimated saving is $47/month.

Fix Engine

Automated fixes — with dry-run and rollback

Before any change is applied, CostLens runs a dry-run to show you exactly what will happen. Reversible fixes can be undone from the audit log — or set Auto-Fix rules by check, severity, and savings cap to apply low-risk fixes automatically, with post-change health monitoring that can roll back a regression on its own.

Always shown

Dry-Run Preview

Where supported by the provider's API — across AWS, Azure, and GCP — CostLens performs a dry-run first. You see the exact change before it's committed — no surprises.

Flagged clearly

Reversible Actions

Fixes that can be undone — like instance type changes or stopping resources — are flagged as reversible. Roll back from the audit log with one click.

Always logged

Full Audit Trail

Every applied fix is logged with before state, after state, timestamp, user identity, and the Aevi reasoning that informed the decision.

Designed for trust — not convenience

CostLens connects using each provider's native least-privilege mechanism — IAM Role assumption on AWS, a scoped service principal on Azure, a scoped service account on GCP — never long-lived credentials. It requests only the read permissions it needs to scan, plus a targeted set of write permissions for the specific fixes it supports. Credentials are never stored.

Notifications that matter

CostLens alerts you in-app when new high-severity findings appear, a sync completes, a fix finishes or fails, or a budget threshold is crossed — with per-user preferences for what you see. On top of that, a weekly AI-narrated report and a monthly PDF savings report land straight in your inbox.
